WASHINGTON, Pa. – The SIU water polo team downed Monmoth (13-10) before falling to host Washington & Jefferson on Saturday.

Djordje Stavrevski scored an SIU record 11 goals against Monmouth. Borislav Kovacev and Roland Maldonado each added one goal.

Stavrevski posted six goals against W&J. Kovacev, Michael Broome and Paul Irving added three goals apiece. Maldonado and Michael Ebenkamp each netted one goal.

SIU plays in home-opener against Mercyhurst next Saturday at 8:30 p.m.
