BUCKHANNON, WV - Competing in their second event of the season, the Salem International University men's and women's swim team dropped a 315-131 decision to West Virginia Wesleyan College on Friday night (Nov. 11) in collegiate swimming action. 

The Tiger Men took home the top-spot in the 400 yard freestyle relay as the team of Chad Doerman, Milos Popovic, Mike Roake, and Robert Juhas finished with a time of 3:36.62. Mateo Kozomara finished ahead of the rest of the pack in the 100 yard individual medley with a time of 1:04.53 for SIU.

Juhas would finish second in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 23.89, while Popovic completed the 100 yard butterfly in 1:00.50 - good enough for a second-place finish. Roake and Kozomara finished second and third in the 50 yard backstroke with times of 27.96 and 27.98. Doerman and Juhas placed third and fourth in the 200 yard freestyle with times of 2:01.18 and 2:01.60.

The West Virginia Wesleyan Men were victorious in the rankings, 152-76 against SIU and were led by the efforts of Dominik Schopper, Julian Morassi, Scott Heckathorn, and Corey Johnston.

The Tiger Women would also be victorious in the 400 yard freestyle as Olivia Fickes, Kara Kocurek, Alyssa Discepola, and Audrey Jones finished in 4:53.41 to pace the field. In the 100 yard individual medley it would be Alexia Haislop taking home a first-place finish with a time of 1:12.70. Haislop picked-up a second-place finish in the 100 yard backstroke (1:08.47) and a third-place finish in the 100 yard butterfly (1:12.57).

Fickes found herself victorious in the 50 yard butterfly with a time of 37.76, while snagging a third-place finish in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 29.17. 

The West Virginia Wesleyan Women were victorious in the rankings, 163-55 against SIU and were led by the team of Theresa Burgess, Tess Betler, Emily Kroll, and Kylee Savage.
