ETTRICK, VA - The Salem International University women's tennis team faced some tough competition on Wednesday afternoon (Mar. 8), falling 9-0 against Virginia State University in NCAA Division II tennis action. The Trojans would win all-but three points between singles and doubles competition.
The Trojans swept through doubles play, taking all three matches by 8-0 scores and would head into singles competition with plenty of momentum against the Tigers.
Junior
Felice Reed tallied a pair of points in the second-set of her loss to Sydney Yao at the No. 2 position in singles play, while fellow junior
Jen Foreman dropped a 6-0. 6-1 decision against Tamisha Richardson at the No. 3 position. The Trojans were victorious by 6-0, 6-0 scores at the No.1,4,5,6 positions against SIU.
The Tigers head to Richmond, Virginia tomorrow (Mar. 9) to face Virginia Union University at 1 p.m. The Tigers and Panthers are scheduled to play at Battery Park in Richmond, Va.
