CHARLESTON, West Virginia- Coming off a good regular season, the Salem Tigers women's tennis team was selected to compete in the NCAA Atlantic Region Championship Tournament in the state's capital on Monday afternoon. The Tigers looked to pull off a huge round one victory against their opponent the Fairmont State Falcons. Unfortunately, the Falcons would take control of this one defeating the Tigers 4-1.
Kylie Diaz and Daria Korsakova were successful with a win in their doubles contest. However, Fairmont State would go onto win the other doubles contests. The Falcons had taken full control of the match once the singles contests started. Eskaterina Korsakova did earn a singles victory by defeating her opponent in two sets. Unfortunately, the Tigers couldn't get any more wins on the board during the singles matches. Fairmont State defeated Salem by a final of 4-1.
As the season comes to an end, the Tigers will now head into the offseason after an extremely successful season making a regional. Salem will look to build on the young talent on the team and comeback next year even stronger.
