Tigers Continue Impressive Season

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 SALEM, West Virginia- After the Hilton Head Spring Break, the Salem women's tennis team has competed in 5 matches on the road. The Tigers have had a successful stretch of games winning 4 in a row and only losing the last of the 5-game stretch.

Salem 6, West Chester 1
The Tigers opened things up in the doubles matches. West Chester would win the first doubles match, but Salem would answer back winning each of the last two. Salem was able to have a incredible day in the singles matches pulling off the sweep. Erna Brdarevic, Galia Mezouar, Kylie Diaz, and Salome Molina all won their singles matches in 2 sets. Dasha Korsakova and Aishwarya Kailaje both won in 3 sets.

Salem 7, Kutztown 0
In the second game, Salem traveled to Kutztown, PA for a match vs the Golden Bears. Mezouar and Brdarevic started it off winning the first doubles match 6-2. Molina and Kailaje also won 6-2 in their doubles win. The Tigers kept that momentum rolling in the final's doubles match when Diaz and Korsakova won 6-2. Salem was able to completely sweep the day winning all the singles matches as well.

Salem 5, East Stroudsburg 2
East Stroudsburg would get off to a nice start taking the first set of doubles matches. Diaz and Korsakova would tie things back up with a win of their own. It would be Molina and Kailaje winning the final doubles set for the Tigers by 6-4 final. Mezouar earned a singles victory in 2 sets. Kailaje would keep that momentum rolling with a victory in 2 sets. Diaz would win both of her singles sets 6-2. Korsokova won her match defeated her opponent in 2 matches as well. Molina earned a victory due to opponents' retirement in the 3rd set. 

Salem 6, Cal PA 1
In the fourth contest, the Tigers were face to face against Cal PA. The Tigers defeated Cal in the doubles contest taking 2 out of 3. Brdarevic and Mezouar both got the singles matches off to a great start for the Tigers with both winning. Cal Pa was able to grab the third match up. However, Diaz and both Korsakova's were victorious in their single contests. Salem cruised to a 6-1 victory.

Charleston 7, Salem 0
The Tigers capped the stretch off with a road trip down to the capital city to take on the Charleston Golden Eagles. Charleston would open the contest up by sweeping all doubles match unfortunately. The Tigers needed to get things going in the singles contests, but the Golden Eagles were able to prevail in all of those as well. Charleston defeated Salem 7-0.

After a successful stretch, the Tigers will now prepare for their next contest on April 14th. The Tigers are now 9-4 on the season. Salem will travel to Davis & Elkins to begin a busy week full of action starting on Monday.
