SALEM, WV - The Salem International University softball team will host its second home twin bill of the season on Wednesday afternoon (Apr. 12) as the Tigers host Pitt-Johnstown at Hope Field beginning at 2 p.m. Live stats will be available for both games on www.siutigerpride.com.
The Tigers last played 11 days ago against Cedarville University, dropping a doubleheader on the road against the Yellow Jackets. The only home contest this season for the Tigers came on March 22 as SIU hosted Ohio Valley University in a doubleheader at Hope Field. SIU is scheduled to have just four more games at home in 2017, hosting Bluefield State this Saturday (Apr. 15) at 2 & 4 p.m. for Senior Day and West Liberty on Wednesday, April 19 at 2 & 4 p.m.
Freshman
Morgan Atkinson leads SIU offensively this season with a .346 batting average through 30 games. Her 27 hits are second on the team to junior
Hanna Crew, while her 22 runs scored are a team-best. Atkinson also leads the Tigers with 15 runs batted in and three triples.Â
Crew is right behind Atkinson this season, batting .333 through 29 games with one home run and 11 RBI's. She also has five doubles on the season which is second on the team to freshman

In the pitching circle, junior
Kayla Lynch has recorded five the Tigers' eight wins this season. She has fanned 77 batters in 88 innings of work and surrendered just 48 earned runs for SIU. Junior
Katie Holestin has tallied the other three victories this season for the Tigers.
