SALEM, W. VA. (Sept. 23, 2017) – The Salem International University (SIU) Tigers men's water polo team celebrated its seniors and splits its two-game homestand.
On Friday night, the Tigers defeated Jefferson and Washington College 19-2. On Saturday, SIU honored

Mike Roake and
Marton Dudok on senior day before dropping a tough game to Gannon University 15-16.
"These four seniors have been instrumental in where this program is today," Head Coach
Robert Bullion said. "I am sad to see them move on but I am confident they will be very successful individuals going into the workforce. I'm very proud of them."
Against Jefferson and Washington College, three Tigers tied for a game-high three goals each.
Milos Popovic set the tone early for SIU, scoring two goals within a minute of each other in the first quarter and struck again in the third quarter.
Marton Dudok and
Marino Chorro also scored three goals.
On Saturday, SIU took a 12-9 lead going into the fourth quarter, but surrendered seven goals to lose by one.
Popovic and Stavresvski led SIU with four goals each. Once again, Popovic struck early, putting in three goals in the first half while Stavrevski had three goals in the third quarter. But the Tigers were outscored 12-6 in the second and fourth quarters, when Gannon shot at the shallow end of the pool.
Nick Williams led Gannon with five goals.
With the split, SIU is 4-8 on the season; Gannon improved to 3-5. The Tigers will travel to Washington, Pa. in the morning for two matches, playing La Salle University on Sept. 24 at 9:15 a.m., and Connecticut College at 11:45 a.m.
