NEW LONDON, Conn. –The Salem University men's water polo team picked up a 16-12 win over Connecticut College and was edged by Gannon 13-11, Saturday.
With the split, the Tigers move to 8-13 on the season.
In the first match against Gannon, the Tigers were led by junior
Milos Popovic and sophomore
Michael Rojas who each garnered four goals.
Freshman
Mike Diaz, junior
Robert Juhas and senior
Inigo Velasco each contributed to the match with one goal scored.
Senior
Mateo Kozomara notched 10 saves to keep Salem competitive in the match.
In the nightcap versus Connecticut, Popovic and Rojas again led the Tigers' attack as they both contributed with five goal apiece.
Juhas accounted for two goals while, Velasco, Diaz and sophomore
Uros Jevtic each notched one goal.
Kozomara garnered eight saves in the contest to aid the Tigers to victory.
Salem is back in action tomorrow morning as it is set for a match against Mercyhurst at 9:00 a.m.
