Men’s Soccer Set for the ECAC Championship

SALEM, W.Va.- The Salem University men's soccer team has accepted a bid into the 2018 Division II Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Soccer Championship.

The Tigers are set to host the ECAC Championship this Saturday at Robert C. Byrd High School at 11:00 a.m. against Lock Haven University.

The winner of the match will be crowned as the 2018 Division II ECAC Soccer Champion.

The Tigers have never claimed the ECAC title, as they have been runners-up twice, but look to avenge this season and claim the title.

Salem enters the championship at 9-7-2, while Lock Haven heads into the match at 7-7-3.

The Tigers have won five out of the last seven contests, as Lock Haven has won its last two matches. Lock Haven defeated California (Pa.) 2-0 in its last match on October 27th.

Salem is led by sophomore Federico Toschi, who was recently named to the 2018 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Men's Soccer All-Atlantic Region Second Team. Toschi led the Tigers with 13 goals and one assist, good enough for a team-high 27 points.

Toschi also ranked third in Division II with seven game-winning goals.
