SOUTH CHESTERFIELD, Va. (March 17, 2018) – The Salem University Tigers women's tennis team lost on the road to Virginia State University 7-2.
Salem's duo of
Brianna Vasquez and
Kristina Vuksanovic won its doubles match 8-5. Vuksanovic also won her singles match and
Anna Kovalova lost in three hard-fought sets.
"The girls fought hard and played very well against a CIAA team," Head Coach
Todd Tucker said. "Virginia State is very well coached and has great tradition. It was a great day for tennis on a beautiful campus."
With the loss, the Tigers drop to 1-13 on the season. They'll return to action on March 20 against West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, W. Va.
