RALEIGH, N.C. (April 9, 2018) – The Salem University Tigers women's tennis team faced the defending CIAA Conference champion Shaw University, falling 9-0.
Shaw, the current ninth-ranked team in the Atlantic Region, swept doubles and carried the momentum into singles; continuing their path towards a repeat trip to the NCAA Tournament.
"The girls fought hard. I say it all the time, but my girls improve with every match and are going to be a force in the coming years," Head Coach
Todd Tucker said. "Kristina and Anna played a very long doubles match and each had very long singles matches. The scores don't indicate just how hard they made their opponents fight for each point and game."
With the loss, Salem drops to 1-21. They will play Fairmont State University on April 11 at 3:30 p.m.
