Salem University midfielder Mark Ferenczi-Bako was named to the 2019 D2CCA Men's Soccer All-Atlantic Region Second Team, it was announced Wednesday. The All-Region Team is administered by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association and is voted on by college and university Sports Information Directors in the Atlantic Region. Federico-Bako was among 13 Second Team selections and 26 All-Region players overall.
 
A junior midfielder from Budapest, Hungary, Ferenczi-Bako finished the 2019 season with a team-high 10 goals. He recorded three game-winning goals and had a pair of two-goal performances. During one stretch, he scored eight goals in 11 matches.
 
Ferenczi-Bako led Salem to a come-from-behind 2-1 overtime victory October 23 at Seton Hill University. He scored the tying goal with less than eight minutes in regulation and put home the game winner with 49 seconds remaining in the first overtime. In the Tigers' 3-1 win October 3 at Daemen College, Ferenczi-Bako scored the first goal of the match in the seventh minute and put Salem ahead to stay in the 64th minute.
 
Ferenczi-Bako added three assists to finish with 23 points on the season. He notched a goal and an assist in Salem's 4-3 overtime win against Shaw University October 26 and recorded an assist in the Tigers' season finale, a 4-1 victory November 6 at Queens College (N.Y.).
 
Ferenczi-Bako's selection marks the second consecutive year Salem has been represented on the D2CCA Men's Soccer All-Atlantic Region Team. Federico Toschi also earned Second Team honors in 2018.
 
Salem won four of its final five matches to finish with an 8-9-1 record in 2019.
