Dean William Davies scored goals 33 seconds apart starting in the 75th minute as the Salem University men's soccer team concluded its 2019 season on a winning note with a 4-1 victory over Queens College Wednesday at Flushing, N.Y. Wednesday's win was Salem's third in its final four matches as the Tigers finished the season with a record of 8-9-1.

Salem saw its two-goal lead cut in half when Queens (6-6-3) got on the scoreboard in the 72nd minute. Cislariu answered just three minutes later when he put a ball inside the left post off a service from
Mark Ferenczi-Bako to push the lead back to two goals at 3-1 at the 74:33 mark. The Tigers won back possession and Ionut Gaspar found Davies for his second goal of the match at 75:06 to close out the scoring.

The Tigers needed only 95 seconds to get on the scoreboard as
Brandon Sinclair found the back of the net to give Salem a quick 1-0 lead. The Tigers maintained the shutout through the remainder of the first half despite being outshot 6-5 by the Knights.

Davies extended Salem's lead to 2-0 at the 60:12 mark.
Andrea Morelli recorded the assist as the Tigers went on to score on all three of their second-half shot attempts.

Wiktor Stawski finished with four saves for the match as the Tigers' defense limited Queens to a single goal on 10 shot attempts in the second half.

The multi-goal performance was Davies' third of the season, including a hat trick against Shaw University. Davies finished the season with nine goals, one behind team scoring leader Ferernczi-Bako, who recorded a pair of two-goal performances in 2019.
