CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Salem University women's tennis team fell just short to West Virginia State 4-3, who is ranked No. 2 in the Atlantic Region, Sunday night.
Salem went toe-to-toe with WVSU, as the match lasted about four hours.
For doubles, freshman
Ana Kunic and sophomore
Kristina Vuksanovic defeated McKnight and Malo 7-6, 7-4 at No. 2, while sophomore
Iryna Rusyn and sophomore
Brianna Vasquez downed Tadil and Miller 6-1.
In singles, freshman
Karolina Glowinska claimed victory over Kruhlova 6-2, 6-2 at No.3, while Rusyn won 6-1,6-1 over McKnight.
Salem is back in action Saturday as it travels to Charleston for a match at 4:00 p.m.
