SPRINGFIELD, Ohio –The Salem University women's water polo team picked up three wins in dominant fashion with a 16-3 win over Wittenberg, 14-1 win over Washington & Jefferson and a 14-6 win over Penn State Behrend, Saturday.
In the first game against the host Wittenberg, the Tigers outshot Wittenberg 28-22 with a .571 shooting percentage.

Margherita Garibbo each tallied a game-high four goals as ten Bloemendal notched three assists and Garibbo garnered two.

The Tigers dominated the matchup from the start to finish as they led 8-0 after two periods. They added eight more goals in the second half as they posted four goals in each quarter.
In the second game against Washington & Jefferson, the Tigers tallied 39 shots to W&J's 22, the Tigers held a better shooting percentage .467 to .045. Eight of the nine Tigers scored in the contest.
The Tigers were led by Garibbo and Cotter who posted three goals each, while Antoniou and Zappia each connected on two goals apiece.
The Tigers once again controlled the match from start to finish for their second win of the day. They allowed just one goal in the first period and then showed an impressive defensive stand to not allow a goal in the second half securing an easy win.
Freshman goalie
Philippa Piper allowed just one goal with 16 saves for a .941 save percentage while she also posted two steals.
In the Tigers final game of the day, the Tigers once again dominated for the win over Penn State Behrend.
The Tigers connected on 14 of their 17 shots good for a .824 shooting percentage. Penn State Behrend took 22 shots but connected on just six.
Offensively, ten Bloemendal lead the way with four goals, while Garibbo added three scores and three assists.
Antoniou and Cotter each notched two goals apiece.
The Tigers scored 12 goals in the first half as they led 12-3 after two periods played.
Salem is back in action April 6 as it faces off against Mercyhurst at 10:30 a.m.
