ELKINS, W.Va. –The Salem University women's tennis team picked up its second-straight sweep and seventh-straight win as it defeated Davis and Elkins 7-0, Tuesday.
With the win, Salem improves to 10-2 on the year.
At No.2 doubles, freshman
Ana Kunic and classmate
Karolina Glowinska defeated Schwartz and Vargas 6-1, while at No.3 doubles sophomore
Kristina Vuksanovic and freshman
Iryna Rusyn won by default.
In singles, freshman
Julia Piatek downed Newman 6-1, 6-3 at No.1, while Kunic picked-up the win over Vargas 6-0, 6-2 at No.2.
At No.3 singles, Glowinska earned the 5-7, 6-2, 7-6 victory over Bolmenas, at No.4 Rusyn downed Schwartz 6-0, 7-5 and Vuksanovic won at No. 5 singles 6-1, 6-0 over Singleton.
Sophomore
Brianna Vasquez earned a win by default at No. 6 singles.
The Tigers are back in action Friday as they host Edinboro at noon, for their first home match of the spring.
