WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The Salem University women's tennis team overpowered West Liberty 6-1, Wednesday afternoon.
The win marks the fifthteenth-straight as the Tigers record sits at 18-2 on the season.
Salem earned the doubles point as freshman
Julia Piatek and sophomore
Kristina Vuksanovic shutout McLean and Agudelo 6-0 at No. 2, while sophomore
Brianna Vasquez and sophomore
Iryna Rusyn beat Howe and Olson 6-2 at No. 3.
In singles, Piatek downed Wagner 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1, while freshman
Karolina Glowinska dominated Ponti 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2.
At No. 3, freshman
Ana Kunic won 2-6, 7-6, 6-0 over Howe, while Rusyn overpowered McLean 6-3, 7-5 at No. 4.
Vuksanovic fell short 7-5, 2-6, 6-7 to Agudelo at No. 5, but Vasquez picked up another point for the Tigers as she beat Olson 6-2, 6-3 at No. 6.
The Tigers travel for a match against West Chester on Friday.
