GENEVA, OHIO –The Salem University women's water polo team fell to No. 8 Cal State Monterey Bay 14-9 in the final day of the WWPA Championships, Sunday morning.
The Tigers finished sixth in the WWPA Championships, which is three spots higher than projected at the beginning of the season at No.9.
Salem ends the season with a 14-14 record.
The Tigers recorded more shots than CSUMB 34-32, while CSUMB held a higher shooting percentage .438 to Salem's .265.

Maryanna Antoniou each tallied two goals as Antoniou added an assist.

Annefleur ten Bloemendal each notched one goal, while Zappia added an assist and ten Bloemendal dished out three.
Monterey Bay gained its advantage in the first half as it led Salem 9-4 at the break. Salem and CSUMB each scored five goals in the second half as the Tigers fell short.
Antoniou earned the honor of second team all-tournament.
