CHARLESTON, W.Va. –The Salem University women's tennis team picked up its first-ever NCAA tournament win as it defeated No. 6 West Chester 4-2 in the first round of the 2019 NCAA DII Women's Tennis Atlantic Regional, Monday afternoon. 
 
The Tigers started off down 1-0 as they fell in the doubles 2-1 as freshman 
Karolina Glowinska and 
Ana Kunic won 6-1 over Power and Skulsky. 
 
After the Tigers shook the butterflies, they won four straight to claim the 4-2 victory. 
 
At No. 1 singles, freshman 
Julia Piatek defeated Power 6-0, 6-1, while at No. 3 singles Glowinska claimed a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Skulsky. 
 
At No. 4 singles, sophomore 
Iryna Rusyn notched a 6-2, 6-0 win over Roelker, while sophomore 
Kristina Vuksanovic ended the match with her 6-2, 6-3 victory over Rochford. 
 
Salem will now face No.2 Charleston tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. with the winner advancing to Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Fla. as the final 16 teams will face off.
