CHARLESTON, W.Va. –The Salem University women's tennis team's season concluded as it fell to No. 2 Charleston 4-1, Tuesday afternoon in the round of 32 in the 2019 NCAA Women's Tennis Championship.
The Tigers finished the season with a 19-3 overall record.
Salem dropped the doubles point and started off down 2-0 to Charleston.
Sophomore
Kristina Vuksanovic was the only Tiger to pick up a win as she defeated Simon 6-3, 6-0 at No. 5 singles. Freshman
Ana Kunic was winning her match against Swann 6-2, 3-2 but the match ended when Charleston secured its fourth point to claim the win.
"We are very proud of what these girls have accomplished and how far they have brought the tennis program," stated Athletic Director
Steve Potts. "It has been a while since our last NCAA tournament appearance, and we look forward to a bright future with our tennis program."
