Salem (0-2) had the first scoring chance of the contest on
Mark Ferenczi-Bako's shot in the seventh minute. The Tigers also had a corner kick opportunity in the 22nd minute, but were limited to only two more shots the remainder of the match.

Carson-Newman broke through at the 38:19 mark and went into halftime with a 1-0 advantage. The Eagles scored again less than two minutes into the second half and added a pair of goals five minutes apart late in the contest.

Salem heads east for a pair of matches this weekend. The Tigers are in Philadelphia, Pa., Friday to take on Chestnut Hill College, then travel to Orangeburg, N.Y., for a Sunday match-up against Dominican College.
