Box Score Luis Felipe Ramirez recorded six saves for his first shutout of the season as Salem University battled to a 0-0 draw against Chestnut Hill College in NCAA Division II men's soccer Friday at Philadelphia, Pa. No overtime periods were played due to impending darkness.
Salem (0-2-1) had the first three shots of the match, including a shot on goal by
Bas De Waal in the 15th minute. The Tigers held a 4-3 shot advantage at halftime.
The Tigers kept Chestnut Hill (1-1-1) out of the goal in the second half despite being outshot 10-3. Salem's defense did not allow a shot in the final 15 minutes of the contest.
The field's lighting had an automatic shutoff, prompting the stoppage of the match after regulation upon agreement by both coaches.
Salem continues its weekend road trip Sunday as the Tigers visit Orangeburg, N.Y., to take on Dominican College. Match time is 2:30 p.m.
