Salem University runners improved on their season-opening meet times as the Tiger men's and women's cross country teams traveled to Winchester, Va., Saturday to compete in the Shenandoah University Meet. The Tigers finished 16th out of 20 teams in the men's race and 16th out of 17 teams in the women's race.

After not having any runners break the 30-minute mark in the women's 5k two weeks ago, three Tigers finished under 30 minutes Saturday.
Asia Hines was Salem's top finisher at 25:25, followed by
Nya Jones at 28:38 and
Cerise Dingiswayo at 29:27.
Keara Wilson-Crockett posted a time of 32:32 and
Ashia King finished with a time of 34:57.

On the men's side,
Isaiah Harris posted a time of 21:12 in the 6k to place 55th out of 199 runners.
Mario Ospina finished 65th,
Dominic Mazzariello was 68th,
Anthony Cole placed 134th and
Delmar Jeter finished 189th.

Salem returns to action next Saturday as the Tigers travel to Erie, Pa., to compete in the Gannon-Mercyhurst Invite.
