Daniela Quesada led six players in double figures with 18 points apiece and
Endia Jones recorded a double-double as Salem University topped the 100-point mark for the third time this season with a 115-71 victory over Cheyney University in NCAA Division II women's basketball Monday at T. Edwards Gymnasium. Prior to this year, the Tigers had not scored 100 points in a game since the 1995-96 season.

Salem (4-12) raced out to a 21-3 first-quarter lead as
Daniela Quesada,
Alicia Smith and
Tamia Tart combined to hit 4-of-5 three-pointers. The Tigers led 23-6 after an
Endia Jones putback with 3:57 left, but Cheyney used its transition game to score the final 14 points of the quarter and pull within 23-20.

Cheyney (2-12) pulled within 25-24 after a layup by Jamyra Maye, but
Nerea Arambarri Fernandez and
Reeva Jackson combined to hit 4-of-4 free throws to keep the Tigers on top. Smith and Fernandez connected on three-pointers as Salem built the lead back to double digits at 42-31 with 3:21 left before halftime. Cheyney got as close as eight before Jones sank a pair of free throws with 23 seconds remaining to give Salem a 48-38 lead at the break.

Quesada hit a three-pointer and her steal on the inbounds pass set up
Inari Jones for a three-point play as Salem extended its lead to 55-39 less than a minute into the third quarter.
Nia Bishop's three-pointer with 3:30 remaining pushed the margin to 20 points and Holmes's three-pointer just before the buzzer gave the Tigers an 85-59 lead.

The margin eclipsed the 30-point mark on three-pointers by Quesada and Fernandez less than a half minute into the fourth quarter. The Tigers reached the century mark on
Precious Price's three-pointer with 6:06 remaining.

Jones matched a season high with 13 points and had her top rebounding total of the season with 14 boards. Fernandez finished 16 points, Smith had 13 points and Tart added 10 points and seven rebounds. Jackson also pulled down seven boards as Salem outrebounded Cheyney 54-37.

Maye led all scorers with 28 points for Cheyney.

Monday's game was the first of three consecutive home contests over the span of 11 days for Salem. The Tigers next play host to Ursuline College Saturday afternoon. Tip-off is 2 p.m.
