Courtney O'Shaughnessy scored the game-winning goal with 28 seconds left in sudden death overtime as Salem University defeated Division I Long Island University 15-14 in women's water polo Sunday at Lewisburg, Pa. The Tigers earned a split in their four games at the Bucknell Invite.

Salem (6-2) rallied from a two-goal deficit in the third period and goalkeeper
Philippa Piper recorded a save on a penalty shot in the fourth period as the two teams went into overtime tied 11-11. Long Island built another two-goal lead with goals in the first and second 3-minute overtime periods.

The Tigers tied the game 13-13 on goals by O'Shaughnessy and
Chloe Woodbine. LIU went back on top, but Woodbine scored again to force the game into sudden death. O'Shaughnessy put home her team-high fifth goal of the contest to give Salem the win.

Margherita Garibbo added four goals, while
Annefleur ten Bloemendal tallied seven assists. Piper finished with 10 saves.

Salem makes its third straight trip to Pennsylvania next weekend as the Tigers travel to Erie to compete in the Mercyhurst Invite. Salem faces four Division I opponents, including rematches against the host schools of the Tigers' first two competitions, La Salle University and nationally 23rd-ranked Bucknell University.
