The Salem University softball team is in Central Florida as the Tigers play 10 contests in the Spring Games at Winter Haven, Fla. The Tigers play two games each of the next four days and then after taking the weekend off, wrap up play with two more games.

Salem (3-5) opens today at 1:45 p.m. against California University (Pa.) and then takes on Southwest Minnesota State University at 4 p.m. The Tigers have an early wake-up call Wednesday with a 10:15 a.m. first pitch against Post University (Conn.), followed by a 12:30 p.m. match-up against Bentley University (Mass.).

Thursday, the Tigers take on Nyack College (N.Y.) and 1:30 p.m. and face Minnesota State University-Moorhead at 4 p.m. Salem will spend Friday the 13th playing Saint Michael's College (Vt.) at 2:45 p.m. and Northern State University (S.D.) at 5 p.m.

Salem concludes play Monday with a 10 a.m. contest against Jefferson University (Pa.) and a game against Millersville University (Pa.) at 12:15 p.m.

Katrya Traylor goes into the spring break trip as the Tigers' leading hitter with a .391 batting average.
Adriana Sanchez is batting .333 for the Tigers. In the pitching circle, Christine Bomardiere has 20 strikeouts in 22 innings pitched, while
Rosey Romick has struck out 11 batters in 19 innings.

Salem has a quick turnaround after its Florida trip as the Tigers travel to Glenville State for a doubleheader March 18. Salem's home opener is a doubleheader March 20 against Carlow University.
