Box Score 2 Christine Bombardiere took a four-hit shutout into the bottom of the seventh inning, but two errors and a walk-off bunt brought home an unearned run as the Tigers fell to Bentley University 1-0 in NCAA Division II softball Wednesday at the Spring Games in Auburndale, Fla. Bombardiere has allowed no earned runs in 14 1/3 innings in her two starts at the Spring Games.

The Tigers fell to Post University 12-0 in Wednesday's opener.

Bombardiere (2-3) escaped trouble in the first against Bentley (6-6) with a two-out strikeout after the Falcons put runners on first and second with a pair of singles. Salem turned a double play to end the second inning when right fielder
Rosey Romick threw out a runner at third trying to tag from second on a flyout. Bombardiere retired the side in order in the third and fourth innings and worked around an infield single in the fifth and sixth innings.

Salem (4-8) had a scoring chance in the top of the third when the Tigers loaded the bases.
Casey Moritz drew a one-out walk and after a force out at second, Romick and
Katrya Traylor followed with singles. But Bentley pitcher Kayleigh Fitzpatrick got out of the jam on a groundout to third.

Moritz sparked another scoring threat in the fifth with a one-out single to left.
Adriana Sanchez followed with a single through the left side and both runners advanced into scoring position on Romick's sacrifice. Traylor drove a 2-2 pitch to center, but Bentley centerfielder Juliana Romeo made the catch to end the threat.

Moritz's two-out single in the seventh was the Tigers' lone hit in the final two innings.

Back-to-back one-out infield errors put runners on first and second for Bentley in the bottom of the seventh. An infield single loaded the bases and Romeo's bunt brought home the winning run.

In Wednesday's opening game, Post (7-3) scored all of its runs in the third and fourth innings to break a scoreless tie. Six runs in the Eagles' seven-run third inning were unearned after the leadoff batter reached on an error.

Salem plays two games each of the next three days and concludes play in the Spring Games with two contests Monday. Thursday's schedule has the Tigers playing Nyack College (N.Y.) at 1:30 p.m. and Minnesota State University-Moorhead  at 4 p.m.
