Villanova, PA- Salem University Women's Water Polo extended their record to 8-9 with two wins on Saturday against La Salle University with a score of 19-11 and the Virginia Military Institute with a score of 12-11.
Game One:
The Tigers jumped to an early lead in the first period scoring seven to La Salle's two and never giving up the lead.
Chloe Woodbine lead the Tigers with six goals. Annefleur Ten Bloemendal came away with four,
Courtney O'Shaughnessy with three,
Heather Lock and
Lola Gill with two and
Margherita Garibbo and
Erin Zappia with one.
Game Two:
The Tigers were able to outscore VMI by one with a goal late in the fourth period with
2:13remaining from
Taeghen Hack. Seven Tigers combined for the 12 goals with Zappia leading the way with three, Ten Bloemendal, O'Shaughnessy, and Garibbo with two, and Lock, Hack, and Gill with one.
The Tigers will be back in action for a four game weekend
on the 20th starting at 1:30 against Gannon University.
