Villanova, PA- Women's Water Polo capped off an impressive weekend on Sunday. The Tigers were able go go 3-1 on the weekend, with all of the games being against Division 1 competition.
Chloe Woodbine led the Tigers with 11 goals on the weekend.
Game 1-The Tigers led 6-2 after the first period, and 11-3 after two periods. The Tigers used that first half momentum to win 18-10 against Virginia Military Institute.
Chloe Woodbine,
Margherita Garibbo, and
Heather Lock added 3 goals, while
Annefleur ten Bloemendal added four goals. Piper would add 15 saves in goal.
Game 2- Salem got off to another hot start in game two, going ahead 8-3 in the opening quarter on the way to a 22-8 victory over Mount Saint Mary's. Garibbo led the team with five goals in the game.
Game 3- On day 2, Salem took on a familiar opponent in Saint Francis University. The Red Flash got the best of Salem 10-9. Salem rallied late out scoring SFU 4-2 in the fourth period but it was not enough.
Chloe Woodbine paced the Tigers with 3 goals.
Game 4- Salem finished out the the weekend taking on Villanova. The Tigers utilized a strong third quarter to pull away and went on to win 16-12.
Chloe Woodbine led the team in goals in the game with five.
