Salem University Men's Water Polo opened up their season at the United States Naval Academy with four games over the weekend to start out 1-3 on the year.
Game One:
The Tigers fell to Johns Hopkins University 12-10 in their first game on Saturday. Five Tigers combined for the Tigers 10 goals: Nikola Krstonosic with four, Petar Leontijevic and  Ivan Zivojinovic with two and Blake Wind and Carson Hicks with one.
Game Two:
In game two on the day, the Tigers lost 16-6 against United States Naval Academy. Krstonosic led the scoring for the Tigers with three goals followed by Chad Rowley, Manuel Soto Estela, Leontijevic and Hicks each with one. Head Coach Robert Bullion said, "We are getting the feel with playing together against very good teams. I am very happy with the compete level. We just need to continue to improve."
Game Three:
Krstonosic led the Tigers to their first win of the season against Mount St. Mary's 14-13. Krstonosic tacked on seven goals followed by Rowley and Leontijevic with two, Zivojinovic, Hicks and Wind with one.
Game Four:
Salem closed out the weekend against D1 Bucknell University, falling short 15-10. The Tigers were ahead  4-3 after the 1st. Krstonosic added four goals during the final game to add to his high scoring weekend. Zivojinovic added three, Leontijevic with two and Mike Diaz with one. Bullion commented saying, "We had a strong day from a long weekend. I like the way the team play is coming together. Defensively we have improved each game."Â
Men's Water Polo will be back in action September 18th and 19th at Bucknell University with their first game against Wagner College at 11:30 a.m.
