SALEM, West Virginia - In an effort to further the high level of athletic performance of Salem University Athletics, Athletic Director Alex Joseph has named Michael Stewart as the new head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Salem Tigers.
In regards to this exciting new hire, Joseph commented "We are very excited to add Michael to our Salem athletic department staff. The position of strength and conditioning coach is vital to the success of our student-athletes. Mike is someone who is not afraid to put in the work, and has a great background in strength and conditioning from his time at Findlay. We are very excited to see the growth of our programs under his advisement."
Stewart comes to Salem from central Ohio. While he has spent a few years working away from the weight room, his experience is still top notch. Stewart was a wrestler at the University of Findlay from where he earned an associate's degree in Personal Training, a bachelor's degree in Strength & Conditioning, and a Master's degree in Business Administration. On top of that in depth educational experience with the Oilers, Stewart was also an intern for the strength & conditioning department at Findlay, alongside a wrestling coach at the high school and club level in Ohio.Â
Salem University Athletics is excited about the contributions that Stewart can make to all their athletics programs, and more importantly in the development of all our Tigers student-athletes.Â
