Tigers Notch Three More Wins To Continue Successful Spring Campaign

| Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4

SALEM, West Virginia - After a highly competitive week down in Florida, the Salem women's tennis team has been hard at work this spring, and they have put together an impressive 7-5 record. More recently, they have been in competition much closer to home. Their recent contests have played out as follows:

Salem 5, Emory & Henry 2

In their first contest after returning home from Florida, the Tigers headed down to northern Virginia to take on the Emory & Henry College Wasps. The Tigers competed well in the doubles competition, and 2 of the Tigers doubles teams earned individual wins, namely Diaz/Coric and Gerter/Ziani. On the singles side, Salem locked in the team win with individual wins from Melanie Coric, Kylie Diaz, Lina Ziani, and Ana Gerter.

Salem 8, Marietta 1

For Game 2 in this sequence of their season, Salem returned close to home to take on NCAA Division III opponent Marietta College. The Tigers continued their strong showings from earlier in the season, and they very nearly swept the Pioneers. The Tigers got particularly strong showings from Daria Korsakova and Melanie Coric, who shutout their opponents in the singles competition.

Slippery Rock 6. Salem 1

Salem had their toughest task in the third contest against a talented Slippery Rock team on the road in Pennsylvania. Salem hung tough, and got their lone team points from Ana Kunic with a win in the singles portion of the contest. However, it was all Slippery Rock from there, and Salem fell 6-1.

Salem 4, West Chester 3

In the final contest of this portion of the schedule, Salem had another close matchup on their hands. They narrowly took the doubles event with wins from Diaz/Kunic and Korsakova/Coric. In the singles, they got three individual wins from Kylie Diaz, Daria Korsakova, and Ana Kunic to seal the well-earned 4-3 win over the Rams on the road.

Next time, Salem women's tennis team continues their season on April 2nd at 1:30 PM just up the road in Fairmont against old local rival Fairmont State
