ERIE, Pennsylvania- The Salem Tigers men's water polo team was back in action this weekend for another tournament. The Tigers headed north to Erie, Pennsylvania for a weekend tournament where they would play four games across the weekend. Salem seen a lot of success as they went onto sweep the weekend in convincing fashion.
Salem 25, McKendree 14
In the first match up, Salem went head-to-head with McKendree. The first quarter started out with both teams being even on the offensive end. After one the score was knotted up at 6. In the second, Salem was able to build some momentum and score 6 more goals in the quarter. The Tigers held a 12-9 lead going into halftime. In the second half, the Tigers would not look back and go on an impressive 9-2 run in the 4
th quarter. Salem would end up defeating McKendree by a score of 25-14. The Tigers were led by
Nikola Krstonosic with 7 goals.Â
Salem 28, Mercyhurst 16
In the second match up, the Salem Tigers faced off against Mercyhurst. In the first half, the Tigers were able to gain control early as they held a 7-4 lead after one. The second quarter Mercyhurst was able to score 6 goals, but the Tigers were still able to maintain a 14-10 lead at halftime. In the second, Salem would go on an impressive 10-1 run in the third quarter. After that run, the Tigers didn't look back and cruised to a 28-16 victory. The Tigers were led by

Nikola Krstonosic both securing 7 goals.
Salem 20, Gannon 13
In the third game, the Salem Tigers went up against the Gannon Golden Knights. In the first half, both teams came out playing aggressive defense with score being knotted up at 4 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Tigers would play amazing defense holding the Golden Knights to 2 goals in the second period. Salem held a 9-6 lead at the half. In the second half, the Tigers had taken complete control of the game outscoring the Golden Knights 11-7. Salem would end up securing the win by a score of 20-13.
Nikola Krstonosic led the way once again with 7 more goals of his own.
Salem 21, Penn State Behrend 9
In the final game, the Salem Tigers faced off against Penn State Behrend. In the first half, the Tigers got off to a quick start out scoring Penn State 13-6. In the second half, the Tigers would gain complete control going on a 8-4 run to close out the game. Salem would defeat Penn State Behrend 21-9. The Tigers were had 4 goals by

Nikola Krstonosic, and
Ivan Petkovski.
After a great weekend, the Tigers will look to build on this momentum as they have a few weeks to prepare before the WWPA Lebanon tournament.Â
