LEBANON, Illinois – After a few weeks off from games, the Salem Tigers men's water polo team was back in action today. The Tigers traveled to Lebanon, Illinois looking to play in a pair of games on Saturday. The Tigers face off against McKendree University and Gannon University. Salem was able to secure both victories and improve to a record of 18-3 on the season.
Salem 21, McKendree 13
In the first match up, the Salem Tigers faced off against McKendree. In the first quarter, McKendree got off to an early lead midway through the first with a 3-2 lead. However, the Tigers would finish strong in the first to hold a 6-4 lead after one. In the second quarter, Salem pulled away outscoring McKendree 7-3. At the half, Salem held a 13-7 lead. In the second half, the Tigers were able to take full control of the game and cruise to a 21-13 victory over McKendree. In the stats sheet,

Nikola Krstonosic also scored his 400
thgoal to become the All-Time Career Goal Leader.
Salem 22, Gannon 15
In the second match up, Salem went head-to-head with Gannon University. In the first period, Salem was able to get off to a 8-5 lead in a high scoring first quarter. In the second, Salem was able to play aggressive defense and outscore Gannon 4-1. At the half, Salem had the 12-6 lead. In the third, Gannon was able to go on a run by outscoring Salem 7-4. However, in the 4
th the Tigers were able to pull away and end up securing the 22-15 victory over Gannon. In the stats sheet,
Nikola Krstonosic was able to secure an impressive 7 goals to help the Tigers sweep the day.
After a successful weekend, the Tigers will have a few weeks off before the WWPA Championship occurs in Irvine, California on November 22
