SALEM, West Virginia - As the off season preparations continue throughout western Harrison County for the 2024-2025 school year, there is some exciting news coming out of the Salem Baseball program.
Looking to build off their successful spring campaign, the Salem Tigers Baseball team has announced an addition to their coaching staff. Specifically, Head Coach Kassidy Gaines has added Nolan Freeman to his coaching staff as an assistant coach working with the Tigers pitching staff.
Freeman comes to Salem after a two year stint working on the baseball staff at local rival Glenville State, where he also worked with the pitchers for the Pioneers. Prior to his stay in Glenville, he worked on the collegiate summer league baseball circuit for the Strasburg Express in Strasburg, Virginia.
Additionally, this is a return to the Valley of Learning for Freeman as he previously spent the 2022 season here in Salem working as an assistant pitching coach. Freeman came to Salem back then after a successful career as a student-athlete at Mercyhurst where he pitched 3 seasons for the Lakers.
The entire Salem University Athletic Department would like to welcome Nolan back to campus, and we look forward to the new strides the Salem Baseball team can make in the 2024-2025 school year.
