Tigers Take on the West Virginia State Games

Morgantown, West Virginia - After kicking off their season last weekend, the Salem swimming program took on the West Virginia State Games today up in Morgantown. Hosted at Mylan Park by West Virginia University, the event  featured the best collegiate swimmers from all over the state. Salem performed well with the men's team finishing 4th overall and the women's finishing 5th.

On the men's side, the top performer was Elias Maurer, who had strong showings in the 100 and 200 yard free style events. Veer Kassan, Nandor Voros, and Connor Murray also had solid days in the water for the Tigers.

On the women's end of the event, Milica Zelic had a great run in the 200 yard breaststroke, and Cheyanne Rohde swam particularly well in the 50 yard freestyle. Emma Donnelly, Courtney Repiz and Kristen Hemmila also represented the Tigers well throughout the event.

The Tigers' swim programs will take a bit of a break before they get back in the pool in competition. They are set to take on the Wheeling Cardinals in a dual meet up in the Northern Panhandle on November 1st.
