Salem University is proud to announce the addition of Women's Rugby, expanding opportunities for Tiger student-athletes and continuing the growth of campus athletics.
Open to students of all experience levels, the program will compete against regional club opponents while emphasizing toughness, teamwork, and leadership — values that reflect the spirit of Salem. The team will train and practice at historic Catalano Stadium, giving the Tigers a home field that has long been a centerpiece of Salem athletics. The program will begin competition as a club program with the goal of developing into Salem's 15th varsity sport.
"This is an exciting step for Salem," said Alex Joseph, Director of Athletics. "Women's rugby brings energy, opportunity, and a new competitive outlet for our students. We're committed to continuing to grow programs that enhance the student-athlete experience and build pride across campus."
Additional information on interest meetings and training schedules will be announced soon. Students interested in joining Women's Rugby are encouraged to contact the Salem Athletics Department for more details.
