SALEM, WV - Junior Ariana Garcia (Cupertino, California / Cupertino High) from the Salem International University softball team has been named the Female Student-Athlete of the Week for April 10-16, 2017.

Garcia batted .583 (7-for-12) on the week for the Tigers as SIU went 2-2 in four games. She was responsible for driving in five runs and scoring three, while recording a pair of doubles.

She had a .750 slugging percentage and .615 on base percentage for the Tigers and went 3-for-3 in stolen bases.

Garcia went 5-for-6 with two doubles and four RBIs in a doubleheader sweep against Bluefield State on Saturday afternoon (Apr. 15).

The Tigers head to West Virginia Wesleyan College on Tuesday afternoon (Apr. 18) for a pair of games against the Bobcats. SIU hosts West Liberty University at Hope Field on Wednesday afternoon (Apr. 19) at 2 & 4 p.m. SIU rounds out the week with a pair of road doubleheader's against Bluefield State (4/20) and Kentucky State (4/22).
