HILTON HEAD, NC - Mother Nature put a damper on the fourth-day of competition for the Salem International University men's tennis team as the Tigers dropped a 6-0 decision to the Catawba College Indians on Monday afternoon (March 6).
The Tigers would drop all three-doubles matches against the Indians with freshman
Nicolas Martinez and sophomore
Antonio Shaw taking a pair of games in their number three match.
Sophomore
Landon Schultz-Zwahr and
Christian Manalang battled the Indians' top duo of Michael Patch and Luca Picci. Patch and Picci would take the match by a final score of 8-1.
The two teams would finish three singles matches as the Indians were victorious in all-three. Manalang fell 6-1, 6-1 to Picci in the number two position, while freshman
Kevin Musasia dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision to Lucas Miller at the number three position.
SIU sophomore
Nicholas Milush would drop the final singles matchup against Catawba's Adam Rocko 6-1, 6-0.
The Tigers will make their way back home on Wednesday, but make a pair of stops in Virginia against Virginia State (March 8) and Virginia Union (March 9).
