Box Score ELKINS, W. Va. (March 26, 2018) – Team chemistry continues to improve for this young Salem University Tigers men's tennis team, who defeated Davis and Elkins College on the road 8-1.
Salem won all three of its doubles matches, getting 8-0 victories from the pairing of
Patryk Garwacki and
Gregor Lainer in the top spots, and
Carlos Padilla and
Andres Padilla in the third spot.
Ivan Arevalo and
Landon Schultz-Zwahr won 8-1.
"The guys came out fired up and played their best doubles," Head Coach
Todd Tucker said. "We've worked very hard on doubles and it's paying off.
"We followed doubles with a toughness in singles which we've had all season. I call it our Woody Hayes mentality. The guys are all fighters. Win or lose, you can count on Salem fighting it out on the court."
With the win, Salem improves to 6-11 on the season and 3-7 on the road. The Tigers will resume play on the road on March 30 against the University of Virginia's College at Wise.
