Former Salem University Tigers water polo player Michal Izdinsky continues to shine with the French National Team, which will compete in the 2018 LEN European Championships in Barcelona from July 14-28.

One of 16 national teams to qualify for the 33rd LEN European Water Polo Championships, France will aim to take down Croatia, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Malta, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain and Turkey.
Competition will begin in group play as the teams were assigned based on a draw that occurred on March 7:
Group A: Germany, Georgia, Italy and Hungary
Group B: Montenegro, Malta, France and Spain
Group C: Croatia, Turkey, the Netherlands and Greece
Group D: Russia, Serbia, Slovakia and Romania

Izdinsky played one season at Salem, earning NCAA Division II First Team All-American honors in 2013. His 106 goals were a single-season record for the Tigers and ranks ninth in career goals.
