Salem University fell to Fairmont State University 138-104 in a men's swimming dual meet Friday at Fairmont, W.Va. The loss was the first this season for the Tigers in a dual meet.

Salem (3-1) took an early lead with a win and a third-place finish out of four teams in the 200 yard medley relay. The team of
Austin Kephart, Fernando Perez,
Brady Samuels and
Zach Bell captured first place 0.33 seconds with a time of 1:40.42.
Joshua Weatherley,
Mateusz Jedrzejewski,
Gabriel Craig and
Greg Smith finished third.

Fairmont State came back to win the next three events before Samuels won the 100 yard butterfly and Perez took home the 50 yard freestyle. After the Falcons won the next five events, the Tigers won the final two. Samuels posted a win in the 200 yard individual medley and joined Perez, Smith and Bell to win the 400 yard freestyle relay.

Salem is idle until after Thanksgiving when the Tigers travel to East Meadow, N.Y., to compete in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship. The three-day meet runs December 6-8.
