MARS HILL, N.C.- The Salem University men's tennis team added a win to its season after defeating Mars Hill 4-3, Tuesday afternoon.
 
The Tigers move to 3-2 on the season.
 
In doubles, Salem over-powered Mars Hill winning each competition. Freshman Bartosz Losiak and freshman Ilia Peredero teamed up to defeat Reid and Ramos 6-3 in No. 1, while at No. 2 sophomore Gregor Lainer and freshman Andrzej Urjasz defeated Neto and Trim 6-2. In No. 3, sophomore Patryk Garwacki and freshman Sibi Soumahoro paired together for a win over Pinassi and Farman 6-4.
 
In the singles, the Tigers came up with three of six wins at No. 4, 5 and 6. Losiak defeated Pinassi 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4. Garwacki notched a win over Farman in three sets 2-6, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5, while Lainer picked up a win against Trim at No. 6 6-2, 7-6.
 
"The guys dug themselves a hole after winning the doubles and getting the early 1-0 lead. We found ourselves down 3-1 before Gregor clinched at No. 6 singles for the 4-3 win. Gregor has been a rock all year and I'm proud of the way he fights on the court and in practice. I truly believe Lainer is a future Hall of Famer at Salem University," exclaimed head coach Todd Tucker.
 
The men head to Colombia, S.C. to take on Benedict College Sunday, March 17 at 11:00 a.m.
