WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Salem University men's tennis team won their sixth straight match with a sweep over the University of the District of Columbia (D.C.) 7-0, Wednesday afternoon.
The Tigers earned the doubles point with freshman
Andrzej Urjasz and classmate
Bartosz Losiak beating Stewart and Kalchev 6-1 in No. 1. At No. 2, sophomore
Patryk Garwacki and sophomore
Gregor Lainer shut down Bahdanovich and Bedforth 6-0.
In the singles, Losiak downed Kalchev 6-2, 7-6 at No.1, while Urjasz powered passed Bahdanovich 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2.
Garwacki defeated Stewart 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3, while at No. 4 Lainer topped Bedforth 6-0, 6-1.
Freshman
Sibi Junior Soumahoro swept Cano 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5, while senior
Eugene Bour earned the win by default at No. 6 to give the Tigers the 7-0 win over D.C.
The Tigers travel to Bloomsburg for a 4:00 p.m. match on Tuesday.
