VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia - After a strong performance at the USCAA Fall Championships for Salem men's soccer that saw them come just short of playing in the National Championship game, the USCAA has announced their All-Academic and All-American honors for the 2022 fall season, and Salem men's soccer feature heavily in both.
The highest honor for Salem men's soccer was for defender Ben Lam. Lam earned 2nd Team All-American honors for his strong season on the Tigers backline. Lam scored 1 goal and added 4 assists for the Tigers this season. Additionally, he earned All-Academic honors for his top notch performance in the classroom as well.
Goalkeeper Ruben Pijlman also earned honorable mention All-American status for his efforts as the first choice goalkeeper for the Tigers most of the season. He logged 45 saves for Salem this season.
In addition to Lam's All-Academic honors, Diego Losada and Felipe Gonzalez earned admittance onto the All-Academic team for their educational efforts off the field.
These honors should provide excellent motivation for head coach Florin Marton's squad as they prepare to make a big splash in the 2023 fall campaign.
