CLEVELAND, Ohio - CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Salem University men's wrestling team continued its early-season schedule on Sunday, competing at the Bob Del Rosa Open, hosted by Case Western Reserve University. The Tigers competed against a challenging field featuring programs from multiple divisions, gaining valuable experience and collecting several strong individual performances.

At 197 pounds, Tashawn Coefield paced Salem with a standout effort, earning multiple wins in the bracket. Coefield opened the day with a second-period pin and later added a 6–4 decision victory before bowing out in the consolation rounds.

Landon Ristoff turned in another consistent outing at 184 pounds, starting with a 10–4 decision win and following with a fall in 4:28 to advance through the early rounds. The performance marked Ristoff's second straight tournament with multiple victories.

At 149 pounds, Dylan Knight showed offensive firepower, recording an 18–3 technical fall in his first match and battling deep into the consolation bracket.

Seth Thomas (157) and Seth Holt (165) both picked up early-round wins, with Holt earning a major decision in his opener and Thomas securing a 7–5 decision to advance before exiting in the second round.

At the lighter weights, Ethan Moore (125) and Riley Curran (133) each wrestled through challenging draws, building valuable early-season experience against a strong regional field.

The Tigers return to action next weekend as they continue their open tournament schedule ahead of their home debut later this month.

Overall, the Tigers had 4 of their wrestlers place in the event, including Tashawn Coefield, who finished 4th in the 197 division, Landon Ristoff, who earned 3rd in the 184 division, Fabian Rivera, who finished 5th in the 125 division, and Mikey Lytle, who finished 6th in the 285 division.

After yesterday's results, the Tigers should be energized to get back on the mats in their next round of competition, which will take place on November 15th at the University of Findlay Open in Findlay, Ohio.
