FINDLAY, Ohio — The Salem University men's wrestling team continued its open tournament schedule on Saturday at the Findlay Open, earning several individual victories against a deep field featuring Division I, II, and NAIA programs.
At 184 pounds, Landon Ristoff delivered the Tigers' strongest performance of the day. Ristoff opened the tournament with a dominant 17–1 technical fall over an unattached opponent before dropping a decision to a Findlay wrestler in the second round. He later came up just short in overtime during the consolation round, falling 10–7 in sudden victory.
At 285, Mikey Lytle picked up a solid win in the consolation bracket, earning a 9–1 major decision over Tiffin's Isaac Lehman. Lytle also gained valuable mat time against opponents from UW–Parkside and Lourdes.
In the lightweights, Ethan Moore (125) battled through two closely contested matches, including a narrow 4–3 decision loss to Tiffin's Candio Deluna. Fabian Rivera (125) competed in a challenging bracket as well, wrestling opponents from Belmont Abbey and Davenport.
At 197 pounds, both Tashawn Coefield and Clayton Downs faced tough competition, squaring off against wrestlers from Central Michigan, Findlay, McKendree, and UW–Parkside. Each gained experience against high-level opponents in one of the event's deepest divisions.
