Salem University wrestling faced a challenging slate on the mat, competing in dual matches against Felician University and No. 3 UNC Pembroke. Despite falling in both contests, the Tigers showcased resilience and earned several notable individual performances.
Salem opened the day against Felician, dropping a 35–16 decision. The Tigers struck first at 125 pounds, where Ethan Moore secured a decisive 9–4 win over Marcus Lowry to give Salem an early lead. After Felician responded with a series of bonus-point victories, Salem found momentum again at 165 pounds as Seth Thomas edged Jeremy Quezada in a tight 7–5 decision.
Salem continued to battle in the upper weights. At 184 pounds, Landon Ristoff delivered a strong performance, pinning John Steele at the 3:27 mark to add six points for the Tigers. Iran Love followed at 197 pounds with a convincing 16–3 major decision over Matt Murray, closing the dual with back-to-back Salem wins.
In the second dual, Salem faced a nationally ranked UNC Pembroke squad and fell 56–0. Despite the final score, the Tigers gained valuable experience against elite competition. Several bouts were competitive early, including Seth Thomas at 165 pounds, who pushed Caleb Grau before dropping an 11–6 decision.
Salem will look to build on the positives from the day as the Tigers continue their season against strong regional and national opponents.
