GREENWOOD, S.C. (April 5, 2018) – Learning often comes with growing pains. Even in a 9-0 loss to Lander University—the third ranked team in the nation—the Salem University Tigers men's tennis team gained valuable experience.
Lander University took an 11-match winning streak into the match, but freshmen
Patryk Garwacki and
Gregor Lainer, competing in the top spot in doubles were undeterred; scoring six in a highly competitive match.
In singles, Lainer took David Korsten to a tiebreaker, losing in the second spot in three sets (6-1, 6-7 (5), 7-6 (14-22)).
With the loss, Salem drops to 7-13 on the season. The Tigers will compete tomorrow against the No. 19-ranked University of South Carolina Aiken in Aiken, South Carolina at 9 a.m.
