Box Score 2 The Salem University volleyball team completed play Saturday in the Kutztown University Tournament at Kutztown, Pa. The Tigers fell to host Kutztown in three sets in the opener and finished up with a three-set loss to Notre Dame College (Oho).

Salem (0-10) sliced a seven-point deficit down to one in the first set against Notre Dame.
Jalavia Johnson ignited a Tiger rally with back-to-back kills and
Yesenia Munoz followed with a solo block. Kills by
Autumn Southern and
Liane Moser pulled the Tigers within 13-12.

Salem was down only 17-15 when Notre Dame broke away with a 7-2 run. Johnson's block helped the Tigers save three set points before dropping the opening set. Notre Dame got off to quick starts in the next two sets to clinch the win.

After spotting Kutztown the opening set in Saturday's first match, Salem played the Golden Bears tight in the second set. Moser's ace highlighted a four-point run to tie the set 7-7. After Kutztown pushed the margin back to four, an ace by
Kyana Cardenas helped pull the Tigers within 14-12. But the Golden Bears answered with a 7-2 run and Salem never recovered.

Salem returns to the Keystone State Tuesday as the Tigers take on Point Park University. Match time is 7 p.m.
